• V-J Day Kissers
  • Just like in the famous photo, the guy wears an old navy sailor uniform with the sleeves rolled up and a white sailor hat. The girl dresses in a white nurse outfit with white tights and shoes. When people ask who you are, reenact the kiss.

  • Cleopatra and Mark Antony
  • For Cleopatra: Make a headpiece out of gold brocade and fringe (or use your creativity). Wear over long straight black hair with bangs. Wear a floor-length tunic with bright embellished collar and belt. Add a shimmery cape draped from the back of your arms. Your eye make-up should be extra heavy with eyeliner extending outward from your eyes. For Mark Antony: Wear a white toga with royal gold braiding, a red cape, leather sandals, leather armbands, and crown of ivy.

  • Fisherman and a Mermaid
  • He's a fisherman and she's a mermaid. For the Fisherman: Wear a yellow raincoat, yellow waders, and a yellow rain hat. Carry a net over your shoulder. Wear a beard and carry a pipe in your mouth. For the Mermaid: Find a colorful bra or bathing suit top and cover with sequins, shells, beads, etc. Buy some aqua colored shimmery fabric and cut into long strips about 6 inches wide. Wrap strips around yourself, from your waist to just above your knees, then attach pieces lengthwise so they hang down covering your lower legs. Wear a Hawaiian lei, seashell jewelry, and long hair decorated with sea accessories (optional: use blue or green temporary hair dye). Cover your skin with shimmery body gel.

  • Almond Joy and Mounds Bar
  • He is the Almond Joy and she is the Mounds Bar (you know how the jingle goes). To make each costume, use cloth (blue for Almond Joy and Red for Mounds) to make tunics that fit over your bodies. Then put a width of white cloth down the front, with a smaller stripe (red for Almond Joy and blue for Mounds) on the left. Use black felt to spell out the candy name (copy from the candy bar wrapper). Add the "Peter Paul" logos and you're done!
