• Fire Department
  • Everyone wears yellow cargo pants, black suspenders, white t-shirts and toy fire hats. Use black make-up to create smudged, sooty skin. You can also make inexpensive firefighter costumes by using all yellow or black clothes (or yellow/black jumpsuits), buying some yellow fluorescent reflective tape, and putting bands around the chest, arms, legs.

  • Shaun of the Dead
  • One person is Shaun, and the rest of the group are zombies. For zombies: use light make-up covered with baby powder to create pale, ashen skin, then dark shadow to give yourself dark sunken eyes. Create fake wounds and splash liberally with blood. Smear lots of blood in and around your mouth. Mess up your hair and add dirt, twigs, etc. Rub your clothes in dirt and look as disheveled as possible. For Shaun: wear dress slacks and a white short-sleeved button-down shirt with a red nametag that says "Foree Electric" and "Sales Advisor SHAUN". Put a small red ink stain at the bottom of the left pocket of the shirt. Take a red tie and tie it around your forehead. Carry a wooden cricket bat (make your own out of cardboard). Take fake blood and splatter it on the bat and yourself.

  • Harlem Globetrotters
  • The Harlem Globetrotters is a great group costume for any size of group. Each person will need a pair of white shorts and a blue tank top. Use fabric paint to create red vertical stripes, and a blue bottom hem on the shorts. Use a computer to print out the Harlem Globetrotter logo and glue it to the front of each shirt. Then wear red, white and blue headbands and wristbands, socks and basketball shoes. One person should carry a red, white and blue basketball.

  • Night at the Movies
  • Each person dresses like an item related to the movie theater: popcorn, candy, soda, ticket, etc. For popcorn: Make arm and leg holes in a large box and paint it with red and white stripes; write "POPCORN" on the front, and glue popped popcorn around the top of box; attach more to your shirt and a hat; suspend the box from your shoulders with straps. For candy: Either use a long flat box, or two pieces of posterboard suspended from your shoulders with straps; copy the logo from your favorite candy onto the front; wear matching colors underneath. For soda: use straps to suspend a hula hoop over your shoulders, then drape it with fabric; add the logo of your favorite soda to the front. For a movie ticket: Take two pieces of cardboard and put notches in the corners; paint them to look like theater tickets; suspend them from your shoulders with straps.
